Rev. Phyllis Mueller, Director of the St. Paul's Episcopal Diaper Ministry, Addresses the Club

Rev. Phyllis Mueller, a retired Presbyterian minister and former member of McHenry Rotary, spoke to our Club, Thursday, January 17th, on the Diaper Bank of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in McHenry.  She was recently hired by the parish as Director for this community service founded in 2009.   Phyllis was introduced by the Rev. Lori M. Lowe (left in the photograph), a club member and Priest-in-Charge of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, McHenry.  Mueller noted that in 2012 this not-for-profit organization distributed some 260,000 diapers to partner agencies to distribute to children and adults who otherwise would not be able to afford them.  Among her observations is that a “prolonged illness can wipe out a family’s savings and Medicare covers neither prescriptions nor incontinence supplies.”  Mueller concluded with a plea for financial donations and volunteers.  Interested persons can contact her through St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, McHenry, 815-385-0390.
