Announcements

It was great to see Phil Bartmann was back today.  Please keep Tony Huemann in your thoughts as he is in the hospital with kidney stones, likely due to a lack of water in the parking lot last weekend and also Ron Newman’s friend Sandy as she recuperates from a fall last weekend.

Spirit of 45,  this Sunday 5 pm Veterans Park.  Come see our very own Ron Bykowski as he will be performing Echoing Taps with fellow buglers from several States around as we honor those who served in WWII.  A 17 piece swing band will also play.

Make-ups  none

Happy Dollars  Bartmann for getting back to our meeting,  Arvidson for Dorothy being with and heading North for a few weeks, Diana for an whirl wind few weeks with Mexico, her son Ryan’s wedding and the BB&B,   Thoma and Pelz for the Successful BB&B,  Scolaro for being back at a meeting,  Weingart for  recovering from his fall, Dennis is heading north to take his grandson fishing, Karen for the big event being complete and yours truly also for a very successful week end.

Fun & Frolics  Thoma filled in with questions on historical events and everyone paid a buck.

Program   Blues, Brews and BBQ’s .  Kathy Pelz presented preliminary results from our event.  Despite Fridays rain, we exceeded last year in attendance and income,  had about 6,000

people attend, presold gate tickets used were 367 Friday, 647 on Sat. and 631 on Sun.

Yours truly recapped the different moving parts and how we hope to make a successful event even better.  The committee is looking to involve Club members by having once a monthly

lunch agendas. This will result in clearly identify the tasks, man hours,  and have co-chairs for every aspect early on.

We have identified several opportunity’s to grow our event,  some of which are a nationally sanctioned Home Brew Contest, Bags Tournament  and  Craft beer tasting, if the Club so chooses.   Brain and myself plan on meeting with the Midnight Carboys next week. All in all a very successful event that went off with few issues and has great potential.  Actual results with more details to follow over the next several months and as always we look forward to any other ideas and suggestions everyone has.

50/50   The new pot was up to $4.00  Don Arvidson had the ticket, and Dorothy did not prevail with the marble draw.

NOTE:  3 day Mandatory Rotary Family Vacation on the beautiful  shores of McCullom Lake   Mark your calendar now,  BB&B NEXT JULY 31ST, AUGUST 1ST AND 2ND.  As Mr. Bartmann noted, with a year’s notice there is “absolutely no excuse” to miss “YOUR” Clubs biggest event J

A sincere thank you to each and every one of you for the special Rotary moments this last weekend.  Your dedicated hard work and friendship is what makes this a great Club, of which I am truly blessed to be a part of.    D.T.
