In preparation for their presence at Blues, Brews, and Barbecue – August 18-20, 2017 at Petersen Park, McHenry, IL,  Ross Spencer presented ShelterBox USA – “Right now, around 85 million people around the world have been made homeless by natural disaster and conflict. ShelterBox is working to change this.”  There will be a booth at Blues, Brews, and Barbecue explaining Rotary, the impending eradication of Polio (only the second disease to be eradicated), and ShelterBox USA at the upcoming Blues, Brews and Barbecue – fun and entertainment which benefit our shared community.  Come have fun listening to great music – all the while making the world a better place.  Ross Spencer is a member and the Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer, and Hawthorn Woods.

The proceeds from Blues, Brews and Barbecue go back into our shared community.  You have fun and your fun benefits our shared community.  The event sponsor is the Rotary Club of McHenry Charitable Foundation.  Your Rotary Club of McHenry has generated over $150,000 during the last five years — mostly through Blues, Brews and Barbecue. These numbers do not begin to value the countless hours Rotarians volunteer through numerous service projects.  We have distributed more than $120,000 of such $150,000 to local community, vocational and youth service projects in the Greater McHenry, Illinois area, including but not limited to these Illinois, USA locations: Bull Valley, Johnsburg, McHenry, Prairie Grove, Ringwood, Spring Grove, Volo, and Wonder Lake.  Some examples can be found by clicking on This is Us.
